Mountains and Streams of Consciousness

Let the adventure begin! About to take off out of Appleton to Chicago and then on to Atlanta. Dumping off that beautiful checked luggage bag at goodwill once I get to Georgia.  My dad seems to have been on a mission to help me gain weight before I hit the trail, I’m weighing in at #135 so was semi successful in gaining a little bit beforehand.  My food for my first 4.5 days on trail (before resupply), a little bit out of my normal packed food, I was trying to use up random trail food that I had on hand, mostly no cook breakfasts and bars for lunch which should work nice for the rain in the forecast. Less cooking in the rain!  Here we go!

  Tomorrow morning I fly to the east coast from the Appleton Airport to Atlanta, GA.  My gear list for Spring/ Fall is here:  https://lighterpack.com/r/sl4vv4 The weather in the mountains can be quite unpredictable so it’s necessary to plan for potential cold nights and days can be hot/ cold/ and most of all RAINY.  It rains A LOT on the Appalachian Trail, it’s often referred to as The Green Tunnel due to frequently walking under a green canopy of leaves.  I got help packing my bag from a 7 and 3 year old, and it all fits!
